Jamerson Math Updates
We will have a Chapter 1 test on Wednesday, September 3.
Tonight’s homework is the Chapter Review on pages 67-68-69.
I normally don’t assign math homework. The majority of my assessments of the students are taken by scoring the work completed in class. I did want to assign the chapter review for homework so that you could help your child prepare for Wednesday’s test.
There may be times when I recommend students work on a particular skill at home if he/she seems to be struggling compared to classmates. I encourage students to work on math facts at home. Any student that does not have every multiplication and division fact 0-9 memorized will eventually have some difficulties in 5th grade math. It’s not too late to work on mastery, though.
I have started a classroom website at: jamerson5.weebly.com . There is not much on the site yet, but I will eventually use it to keep you up to date on happenings in our classroom. Starting today, I will post assignments from my classes on the page.
Students can access the math textbook at: http://connected.mcgraw-hill.com/school/t4m3 . There are also resources that can be printed off if you feel your child needs extra practice. While we turn in most work in-class, you can still go back to past lessons even work on future lessons at home to help prepare your child. Each student was given a card with a password for this site. Please contact me at [email protected] if the password has been misplaced.
Thank you!
